There is nothing we can do on stage to usher in the presence of God. We simply step into the authority that He has given us. For that moment, we create an environment in which the people of God can encounter His presence. No matter the style of worship, if horizontal, vertical, intimate, reflective, responsive, challenging or charging, the goal is to encourage the body to engage the Creator. Then, stay out of the way. As worship leaders we have a huge canvas to paint with. We can use lyric and melody, song and progression, rhythm and rhyme. We can whisper or shout, and use a still or moving visual canvas as our backdrop. We can use noise, and silence, we can create space and time. We serve a Creative God, and His creativity and passion for us should be reflected in our creativity. Lead Well! - Charlie Hines
